This is an unsolicited reference for OCL and in particular Mr. Charles Rollo.
OCL, due to their considerable experience in the structured cabling industry, cost effectiveness and empathy for the educational environment, were contracted to undertake the equivalent of a Ministry of Education funded, state school, School Network Upgrade Programme (SNUP) at St Paul’s Collegiate School, a private school in Hamilton. The majority of this 3 month project was undertaken whilst the school was open for instruction which meant work could not start until 3.30pm and classrooms and the network had to be operational for the next day. Network down time during this project was negligible. Coinciding with the cabling upgrade was also a total server rebuild and the remodeling of two ICT classrooms. This required considerable planning and coordination of various companies which Charles and, in particular, his onsite project manager, Paul Cameron, handled with professionalism and good humour. In visioning for future needs of the school a number of requests for variances were made during the project. Charles built these into the scope of works with no issue and continually monitored the project and made recommendations of his own. This was not done as an opportunity to inflate costs but as a real desire to meet the schools present and future needs. The final costs, even with variances, came in slightly under the original quote. OCL has an in-depth knowledge of the Ministry of Educations cabling specifications (these are recognized as setting the standards in the cabling industry) and a real empathy for and desire to meet the needs of the client. I would strongly recommend OCL to any educational institution and in fact any industry at all that was undertaking any cabling infrastructural work.
